- Heart disease remains the top cause of death for women in the United States.
- About 1 in every 5 female deaths are linked to heart disease.
- A recent national survey from the American Heart Association found that despite the risk, many women are unaware of the signs of heart attack and stroke or the risk heart disease poses to women.
Sadly, my own grandmother, Josephine Kelly, passed away in 2018 after a sudden stroke at the age of 77. Understanding your heart health is critical to living a healthy life, including understanding your blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and blood sugar levels and how they impact your risk for heart disease.
The American Heart Association supports various initiatives to spread awareness and prioritize heart health, including the Lawyers Have Heart 5k, in order to educate the community on the facts, understand the warning signs and symptoms and adopt ways to reduce your risk of heart disease.
Please join me in supporting the incredible work of the American Heart Association. Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
