Two weeks after my 50th birthday and four weeks after the picture above, I - surprisingly - suffered a heart attack. I was relatively young, in good shape, and ate pretty healthy. Nonetheless, i survived what could have been a fatal heart attack because i recognized the signs, got to the hospital quickly and received exceptional medical care from the talented doctors and nurses of mount sinai beth israel. As a young adult, i vividly recall my father’s last words to me before he passed away - simply “do good”.
I run for those that can't.
I run to thank my doctors.
I run to pay respects to Jimmy Lee.
I run to support the great work of the AHA.
But most of all, I run to “do good”.
Please support the AHA and honor those who aren't here to walk beside us.
Thank you - from the bottom of my (healthy) heart!
