My employer, Wilmorite, has tasked me with helping to organize the company's fundraising for the American Heart Association's Virtual Walk & Run. Team Wilmorite's goal is $5,000 between now and June 10th. We've raised nearly $3,500 to date.
Until recently, I was unaware that the AHA is one of the leading contributors to research into congenital heart issues. From a personal perspective, my father's aortic stenosis - which may have been congenital - contributed to the eventual failure of his heart to withstand the kidney dialysis he underwent for three years.
