Five years ago on July 27 I was driving home from a familiar place. For some unknown reason I made a wrong turn which then made me take a totally different route home. Half way home I came across a man and a bicycle laying on the side of the road. I pulled over and went to him and found him pulseless. I started CPR and when an AED arrived I was able to use it and his pulse returned. I learned these skills thru the AHA. This man was in his 40's, in great shape and an avid cyclist. Yet he was in cardiac arrest. No cause was ever determined. He has made a full recovery thankfully. Sudden Cardiac Arrests that happen outside of a hospital setting have a less than 10% chance of surviving. He is alive today because I knew how to do CPR and use an AED. I am doing this walk to honor this gentlemen's full recovery and to encourage people to learn CPR. Sudden Cardiac Arrest could happen to anyone at any time! Please help me raise funds to continue the research into heart disease and educating more people in life saving techniques!! Please donate whatever you can!
