Living with a heart arrhythmia can be a daunting and life-altering experience. As someone who previuosly struggled with this condition, I understand the physical and emotional toll it can take on a person. I was eventually diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia and underwent a cardiac catheter ablation that successfully addressed my arrythmia, bringing me much needed relief for both my quality of life and overall heart health. With a family history of heart disease - my dad had a heart attack and underwent quintuple bypass surgery, my mom had congestive heart failure, and my heart arrhythmia - I tremendously appreciate the tireless work of the AHA.
I walk because I know that with every step I take, I'm making a difference in someone's life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
