Family and Friends,
THIS IS WHY…..
It’s Heart Walk time again; this year’s walk is April 14, 2018. Team Tederson is fundraising again… for 19 years me, and my family, walked beside my dad, Wendell Tederson at this event.
In 1990, 28 years ago, our dad had suffered sudden cardiac arrest, and although it was one of the most frightening days of our lives, it was also a day filled with miracles that allowed his life to be saved.
Our family will forever be grateful to the two people who performed CPR that allowed our dad 19 more years to make wonderful memories with us. We lost our dad in 2009.
Many years prior to my dad’s passing, we also lost my father-in-law Fred March, to a sudden cardiac arrest, sadly, he was not saved that day. Still, we are very grateful to the American Heart Association, for funding the research that discovered CPR, decades ago. CPR saves countless lives every year, and continued research funded by the AHA is advancing medicine every day. We all benefit at some point, in some way, if not already. This research cost many dollars.
That sudden event, back in 1990, and his cardiac recovery, prompted our dad, and my family, to join this walk, where collectively, we have raised several thousand dollars, over the years, to help save others, and to give them, and their family’s more happy years, but our job is not done.
This year, Mike and I were talking about the upcoming walk, we started reflecting on how many dear friends we had lost in just the last 5 or 6 years. Nearly all of them, were several years younger than us, all, too young, and all, were lost to heart attack or stroke.
Every year it seemed, we added yet another name to the tribute stickers we wear on our backs, when participating in the heart walk. Last year we sadly, added 4 more good friends names.
Along with both of our dad’s,
Last year we lost: Jody Towles, Mark Burtick, ZIMM-Steve Zimmerman, and Jimmy Cowick.
Also in very recent years we lost:
Tom Towles, “ Farm”, Patrick Farmer, Bruce Czerwinski, and “King” Mike Redder
I’m sure this list is longer, but these guys came to mind in an instant. That is scary. If you… stop and think, I’m sure you will also have a list of family and friends, who have had heart and stoke incidences. I pray they were saved.
We are now asking you, to PLEASE give what you can….any amount is welcome, and will help save lives.
Please help Team Tederson raise more dollars for needed research; so, we all don’t keep losing more friends and family.
Thank you, in advance with love,
Mike and Wenda March
