2024 marks the 9th year that I will be participating in the Greater Maryland Heart Walk and the 5th year I've accepted the "Executive with Heart" challenge.
Too many of my family members and friends have been affected by heart disease and stroke. This is my way of raising awareness (and funds) in honor of and in memory of those so near and dear to me.
- My grandmother, who passed away from complications of congestive heart failure in July 2019
- My grandfather, who suffered several massive and mini strokes over the years before passing away in 2016
- My great-uncle, who underwent triple bypass surgery after a routine visit with his primary care provider and cardiologist
- My uncle, who learned during pre-op testing that he had a heart attack without knowing it
- My mother-in-law, who has had several heart "incidents" and needed to get a defibrillator
- My aunt, who had double bypass surgery in August 2021
I hope you'll consider donating to this special cause and help the American Heart Association continue to make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone (like my uncle, mother-in-law and aunt!).
