To whom much is given, much is required. I thank God for all He continues to do in my life and I am also grateful to the American Heart Association for the work it does to amplify the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and for turning up the volume on reducing cardiovascular disease and stroke. Today, as you move to the beat of your own life's drums; hustling and bustling throughout the day, please take a moment take a deep breath and as you exhale listen to and feel the cadence of the rhythm of your heart beat. Your heart matters!
I invite you to join me in this year's heart walk. You can join our team and walk in rhythm with us as we strive to help the American Heart Association continue its efforts to reduce cardiovascular disease and stroke in America.
Heart valve disease is relatively common, affecting an estimated 5 million U.S. adults, though it is often undiagnosed because many people don’t experience symptoms. Valve malfunctions can be caused by a birth defect, aging or diseases that can scar a valve. When symptoms experienced, the most common are shortness of breath or being easily fatigued. Symptoms can be so subtle that people do not seek treatment until the condition has become severe.
Although I have experienced a few setbacks and had to undergo additional procedures, thriving and surviving for the past 27 years, has allowed me to become very familiar with my body and I recognize when it needs to slow down or acquire medical attention.
I am grateful for the life-saving measures made available to me throughout my journey. Someone not only prayed for me, but they also raised money for such innovative research. Won't you help me in my endeavor to keep paying it forward?
Please make a contribution to our team today.
Thank you for your support!
