20 years ago, the doctors told Vera that there wasn't too much they could do for her and her heart. Then Vera's determination kicked in and new medical technology took over, Here we are 20 Heartwalks later and still going strong and have raised donations of $43,755! (and we didn't even keep track the first 3 years). This is something very near and dear to our "HEARTS' (pun intended); a most worthwhilecause, not only for us, but for all those who suffer from heart disease.
This will be our 20th Annual Heartwalk since my first of 4 heart surgeries in 2003. If you know me at all, you know that you don't tell me NO!
Thanks to all the research and advancements in cardiac illness and wellness, I am only one of MANY who have benefitted from that. My Pacemaker/Defibrillator has 3 times done what is was supposed to do. Thank God I had it put in!
We do understand, as well as any of you, what a difficult and trying year this has been physically, emotionally, and financialy for everyone. However, we would ask, if you are able, to make a donation to AHA in Honor of my Survivorship, no matter how small or insignificant you may think it is. Many small donations still add up. This can and will give others the same opportunities that I have had to beat the odds and this disease, #1 killer of women!
We are hoping to surpass last year's amount by 10%, and we can do that if everyone could up last year's donation by 10%. If you gave us $10, could you give us $11? If you gave us $25, could you give us $27.50 this year? and so on. If not, and for new donors, whatever amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

When that comes up, Vera's name will be highlighted, click on her name and hit the donate button. Any donation of $100 or more will receive special recognition and we will add $5 to our donation.
