I am dedicating my fundraising this year to family. In these challenging times of a lingering pandemic, isolation, war, division, social injustice and health inequity, it is family that one ultimately can rely on for peace and comfort. Once achieved with our smaller family, our work is to expand our family to our community, our country and our world.
I have been associated with the AHA for more than 25 years. Several years ago, the emphasis shifted from a more narrow focus on heart disease and stroke, to the social determinants of good health and how to bring it to all in an equitable fashion. I couldn't be prouder of this organization.
I am asking you to contribute whatever you can, and then a little more, because there are so many out there that have too little to even have the basics. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
