Everyone knows someone who has been affected by heart disease or stroke. My family is not exempt from this. My Uncle Jr, who lives in Georgia, had to get a pace maker for his heart. He’s been active most of his life. This shows you that heart disease doesn’t discriminate against any body types. My Great Aunt Lee, from Orangeburg, SC, passed away from a stroke. She was an older lady, but was still living life by enjoying her kids and grandkids. God bless her soul.
On October 6, 2024, I’ll be walking for them and others that are dealing with the Nation’s No.1 and No.3 causes of death — heart disease and stroke — at the Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk at UCONN Avery Point in Groton, CT. Our team name is Young @ Heart for the Electric Boat company!!
Funds raised through the Heart Walk support research, community service and public and professional education programs. Also I want to emphasize that any type of movement is fantastic for the heart. Living your life with the balance of FOOD, FUN & EXERCISE will make for a longer & better productive life.
My personal goal is to raise $500. Your support will help. Your donation of any amount will help me take a stand against the #1 killer of Americans, including women. Not only will you help me achieve my goal, you’ll also help the American Heart Association make important advances against heart disease and stroke.
Thank you for your support of the Eastern CT Heart Walk. Together we will make a difference!!
