I am walking and fundraising for the 22nd Annual Philadelphia Heart Walk on November 6th and I ask that you help me save lives. My family is very important to me and here is why I am fundraising:
In 2003, my Grandpop Eddie suffered from cardiac arrest in a casino and no one stepped in to perform CPR, there was also no AED around. Due to the lack of action, knowledge and resources, he sadly passed away. If that were to happen today, his outcome would most likely be very different, he would most likely be alive. Due to education and advocacy through the AHA, AEDs are now mandatory in public places and the AHA is training the public on hands-only CPR which saves lives.
In 2012, my Grandmom Ro had a blockage and had a valve replaced. She now lives in heart failure, where she most recently spent a few days in the hospital. Due to medical breakthroughs and advancements funded by the AHA, she is still here today.
In 2020, my Mommom contracted and beat COVID-19. Due to its aggressive nature, she had many setbacks while fighting, one of them being that her heart temporarily stopped. Due to the AHA's research, we have invested $2.5 million to investigate the cardiovascular implications of coronavirus, so that other COVID patients can be as lucky like my Mommom.
Together we can make an impact and raise money for the AHA so that more lives are being saved and more joyous moments are being shared.
Thank you in advance for your support.
