As you know, I am incredibly proud to be a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association for New York City as well as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for Go Red for Women.
I would be so honored if you stood beside me in supporting this worthy cause. All support makes a difference and moves the mission forward, so any gift will be meaningful.
This work is so personal to me. As you may know, my father had rheumatic fever at the age of 22 which weakened his heart. He lived a relatively healthy and active life until age 46 when, in 1976, he had to have an emergency valve replacement. Due to the research and medical advances at that time he was able to live an additional 10 years.
This year, our Executives with Heart campaign are rallying around Hands Only CPR education and training. Over 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes and chances are if someone goes into cardiac arrest it will be someone you know and love like a family member, friend, or colleague. The AHA is working to combat systemic barriers and gender disparities around bystander CPR and is working to train as many people as possible in this life saving action which can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim's chance of survival.
Thank you in advance for your support to help people live longer and healthier lives.
