This year, I am proud to serve as the honorary Chair of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) 2022 Greater Maryland Heart Walk. The American Heart Association’s mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, and together, we are working to address the public health crisis facing our country.
Cardiovascular diseases are the No. 1 killer of Americans, and these cardiovascular diseases place a troublesome burden on both American families & businesses. Unfortunately, by 2035, 45% of people will have at least one cardiovascular disease. By 2035, the cost from cardiovascular disease on employers will exceed $1 TRILLION per year. We also know that individuals experiencing symptoms of long COVID are face with cardiovascular challenges.
This is why our work is so important. People are counting on us like never before to fund science-based research and innovation, healthy living and wellness resources, community programs, and patient support.
Please consider supporting the life-saving work of the AHA with a donation, and or by registering a team to walk alongside CareFirst. Together, we can show up as Difference Makers to positively impact heart health
