We are participating in the 2025 AHA Heart Walk in June this year.
This years theme is LIFESAVER.
Life has always been our why. We are doing it for all of the people we love and take care of. We are raising awareness first and foremost and any funds raised will be used for critical research and education to one day create more opportunities for other patients in need to live longer, healthier lives. Chances are you know/love someone with a heart condition too.
Our group name is Calee's Crew and have decided to attempt to raise $600 ($100 for each year she is old, we kicked it off with our own donation). At the heart walk we will celebrate every advancement, be inspired, celebrate every survivor and honor those walking in honor of someone they loved.
1 in 100 kids are born with a congenital heart defect, the most common type of birth defect.
Some in the US dies every 34 seconds due to cardiovascular disease (CVD) 80% is preventable
Someone in the US dies every 3 mins and 17 seconds due to stroke.
9/10 people who suffer a cardiac event outside a hospital die, highlighting the critical need for immediate intervention by a bystander. Learning hands only CPR can save someone's life. AHA goal is to have at least 1 person in each household trained in CPR.
