On May 3, 2021 I had heart surgery to replace my aortic heart valve which was failing. On Aug 10, 2022 my mother suffered a stroke while driving to church like she did every morning. She never walked again. Then on March 30, 2023 the unthinkable happened again. While I was driving home from work, I also suffered a stroke and found myself trapped in my car that had flipped on its side. I was rushed from hospital to hospital where I received emergency brain surgery a few hours later and am happy to say that I made a full recovery.
I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives. I walk for those like my mother who was never able to walk again.
