Brian and I started a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. While we were on vacation in Forida, in the middle of the night on 7/2/22 Brian went into sudden cardiac arrest. By the grace of God I woke up in time and with the help of my mom and sister, we gave Brian life saving CPR for 11 minutes. It took 11 minutes for the EMTs to get to our house where they shocked Brian twice with an AED and brought him back. After spending some time in the hospital, Brian received an ICD and pacemaker and was diagnosed with heart failure. Prior to that night, Brian had no sympstoms of hear failure. We have seen doctors all over the country and have no answers as to why this happened or why he has heart failure. Two years later and not a day goes by where I don't think about that date and how it forever changed our lives. Today Brian is doing well and living with this new reality which involves a lot of medicne, heart appointments and tests. If it was not for oganizations like the American Heart Associates and their advances in medicne and services, Brian may not be here today. Please consider donating to the American Heart Associations campain or join us for the walk which is on 9/28/24 at 9:00 am at Long's Park in Lancaster. We can personally say events and fundraisers like this can change lives. Two years later Brian is living his best life and our entire our entire family and everyone that was there that night are all survivors. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us and thank you for supporting us.
