This year, I’m riding with my team, Tania’s Comeback Crew, at the CycleNation event in Denver, and we need your support to make a meaningful impact in our community.
This ride marks a deeply personal milestone for me—five years since my stroke.
In 2020, while visiting my daughter Maya in Denver, I experienced a stroke that changed everything. I spent 20 days in the hospital, followed by nine days in acute rehab, and was finally discharged on September 5th. That date became a turning point in my life—and this year, I’m choosing to reclaim it.
I can’t think of a better way to honor this five-year anniversary than by riding in CycleNation, right here in the city where my recovery began. This ride isn’t just about cycling—it’s about brain health, stroke awareness, and celebrating how far we can come with grit, love, support, and a little luck.
I’ve set a personal goal to ride on September 4th, the day before my “strokeaversary.” Five years ago, I couldn’t have imagined taking on something like this. But here I am—riding with my daughter by my side, celebrating resilience, recovery, and all the people who helped me get here, whether you knew it or not.
If my journey inspires you, I hope you’ll consider donating. Your support helps fund life-saving research, raise awareness, and empower survivors like me to keep moving forward.
With gratitude,
Tania
