I am participating in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk in honor of my father, Michael Marfeo, who passed away from a heart attack on December 15, 2016. He was a loving father, husband, and friend, and dedicated much of his life to supporting his family and community. As a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served with honor, and he later worked tirelessly in his career while making sure to always be there for those he cared about.
My dad's sudden passing was a stark reminder of how heart disease can affect anyone. By taking part in this walk, I’m not only remembering him, but also raising funds and awareness to support the critical research and resources needed to combat heart disease.
