Walking for Ariana
This year I'm walking in memory of our niece, Ariana.
Ariana was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome(HLHS) - a rare and serious congenital heart defect. From the very beginning she faced life with strength and courage. She fought more in her short time than most of us will in a lifetime.
And through it all, she lived every single day just the way she wanted to ? with fierce independence, bold choices, and an unstoppable spirit.
She loved the color purple. She lived for chicken tenders and the hottest wings on the menu just like her fiery spirit.
Losing her this year broke our hearts in ways we can?t explain. But we walk now to honor her life, her strength, and her spirit.
We walk in purple.
We walk for her fire.
We walk because she lived her way ? and we?ll never stop loving her for it.
