Erin Lanni is Our WHY!
Our journey with the American Heart Association came without warning. At the age of 18, our youngest daughter Erin went for her routine physical and as it turned out, there was nothing routine about it at all. Her doctor heard a heart murmur and did an EKG. At that moment, our lives changed forever. It was discovered that Erin has a condition called 3rd degree heart block which means the electrical system that causes her heart to beat was not working; her pulse was only 38 and she was told she needed to have a pacemaker to keep her alive.
On July 10, 2006, Erin had a pacemaker implanted and on March 27, 2015 she had her first replacement. Today she is living her best life; she is healthy, happy and just became a Mom! We are thankful to the American Heart Association for the great work and research they do every single day to support Erin on her journey!
So, we are not just walking, we are Heartwalking to honor Erin and the countless other families who are affected by heart disease. Please support us as we walk for Erin because together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
Thank you in advance for your support!
