On April 10, 2022, we lost our closest family friend to a sudden cardiac arrest. Sara Bhinder was all of 48 years, worked her entire life for a non-profit catering to the betterment of children in underserved and marginalized countries across the world. She had no known heart condition and the doctors were unable to revive her after multiple attempts.
For anyone who has lost a loved one to a heart condition, you may always think - how could I have saved this from happening? While we can't change the course of destiny, lives can still be saved if appropriate preventive measures are encouraged such as abundance of CPR learning sessions deeming it to be a life skill, more testing made available to women to help identify underlying heart conditions so we can prevent this from happening to another Sara.
Her warmth, generosity and kind heartedness will forever remain with us and the many other lives she touched through her deeds. I walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease as that continues to be the #1 cause of death amongst women in the US.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
