I have been an active Heartwalk participant and board member for several years because of its importance to individual lives and our society. Heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the US and can often be prevented through healthy living and wise choices. In other cases, medical intervention can also greatly improve quality of life and health outcomes.
Heart health is also important to me because my father passed away due to viral myocarditis in 2007. I’d like to help others to improve their heart health so they can have longer lives and enjoy their families for many years.
The American Heart Association promoted healthy living, research and community programs that have significantly and positively impacted heart health. This heart walk is a fun way to raise funds and participate together to make a difference. Whether it is by leading a team, donating, or walking virtually or in person, please join us in this worthwhile and life saving event!
