For those who cannot...
-Jeff Beauzil
About three years ago my life changed.
I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy... A weak and enlarged heart. My Ejection Fraction was 15% and I didn't even know it!!
I had gotten used to feeling drained and over exerted. I love working here so much it was very difficult for me to "take it easy and rest"!! Doctors told me my condition had been progressively getting worse for 6-10 years.
Over the last two years I have tried to improve the function of the heart with medications. Unfortunately they were not enough.
In May of 2018 I got an Ablation and was informed my Ejection Fraction was now between 5-9% and I needed to act quickly.
My wife was able to contact one of the top three heart hospitals in the country and I was admitted the same day!!
After about three weeks of testing and preparation it was time.
On June 22nd of 2018 my life changed again, I had successful open heart surgery (Special Thanks to Dr. Arash Salemi)!!!
I was given a second chance and was able to obtain an LVAD !!!!
The recovery was smooth and I feel AMAZING!
With the support of family, friends, and co-workers I was able to set small goals and was released from the hospital to continue rehab at home on July 4th 2018!!
This will be my second time participating in this event since being released and I couldn't be happier. I remember when one step felt like a mile...
It is possible to create new memories each day and push through adversity. Please feel free to reach out!!
I hope you will Join us for this walk... Each step you take is for someone who cannot!!
