I walk every year in support of my son and every person that is affected by congenital heart defects or heart disease. Kie born with 13 heart defects and its been a bumpy road. He's had 2 open heart surgeries, countless heart caths, echos of his heart, MD visits, hospital stays to the point that staff have become family and its not over.
He is numerous meds, including 2 shots every day, he has a feeding tube, has been on oxygen and fights every day. He beats all the odds.
Kie is a happy boy, full of life, and a personality that is larger then life. He will win you over as soonas you meet him and make you fall in love with him.
Kie does things his way and it's never the easy way. He will always show his medical team what a fighter he is when ever there is doubt. He gives his mommy gray hair and makes her worry but as a heart mom that's what you do.
The American heart association give help and hope to the future. With out raising money for new technology and research Kie may not be here and it gives me hope for the future with all the new things they are working on that kies future will be brighter, that other families and children won't go through what he has.
This year it's a virtual event and I ask that you consider joining kies team or making a donation to support a needed and worthy cause.
Kie and I will likely not be actively participating on May 15th the day of the virtual event..... Why.... Well Kie is having his 3rd open heart surgery on May 13th!!! Like I said this is a bumpy road and long journey and I pray with money raised and research done that it will help the future for all those affected!
