Why We Walk
2020 Syracuse VIRTUAL Heart Walk - MOVE WHERE YOU ARE
*The American Heart Association has decided to postpone the walk. Donations are still being accepted and a new date will be posted at some point in the future*. Thank you to everyone!!!!
Tamra passed away on January 3rd, 2020 due to complications caused by atherosclerosis (aka arteriosclerosis or atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease).
Many of us hadn't heard of atherosclerosis until Tamra's passing. Once properly diagnosed, it's preventable.
Please join us in what we hope becomes a yearly tradition celebrating Tamra Ann's life; by coming together to tell stories, remembering the positive impact she had on so many people, and to raise awareness of the disease, its symptoms and treatments.
"Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the arteries and is the underlying cause of about 50% of all deaths in westernized society" - Roma Pahwa (NCBI)
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide and stroke ranks second globally. Please join our team or donate today and help us change this statistic.
