A few weeks ago, Barbara Collura very unexpectedly suffered a heart attack. It was a wake up call for many of us as she had no prior history, exercised regularly and lived a healthy lifestyle. What she couldn't escape was her family history. Her brother died at 44 and her mother at 78 of heart attacks. Her father survived two heart attacks in his 40s.

Barbara wants to make sure that all women understand their risk, how important family history is, how to prevent heart disease, and how to advocate for yourself when doctors are ignoring your symptoms. We walk to support education and research for our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends.
