"Your son has a 50% chance of survival" no words  a parent should ever have to hear. Connor was diagnosed with three heart defects; atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect in the cleft artery of the mitral valve with mitral regurgitation at just 23 weeks gestation. Thanks to the amazing doctors at Albany med, Dr. Colon and Dr. Devejian Connors chances of survival increased to 75%. 12 days after Connor's first birthday he underwent life-saving open-heart surgery so Connor will live with heart disease and will need to see his cardiologist regularly. He is able to live a "normal" life of a typical little boy who loves to play baseball, flag football and golf.  Nothing keeps him down! 

1 in 100 children are born with a congenital heart defect every day. CHD is the leading birth defect, and cause of death amongst children.
