Mary’s Team was created 20 years ago to remember the life of Mary Kate Lane, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her life was one spent helping others so we walk to honor her by participating in an event that can help to improve the lives of millions of Americans who suffer from heart disease.

Why is Mary’s Team still walking? Despite tremendous strides in healthcare over the past 2 decades, heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. Continued AHA-funded research and education programs are vital to changing this statistic.
