On Saturday, April 12th, our family will be walking along side of the American Heart Association in Lynchburg, VA in support of Emma's diagnosis with Congenital Heart Disease at two days old.
Emma was born on September 27th and as many know she was transported to CHKD'S NICU. On September 29th, we received her diagnosis of pulmonary valve stenosis and hypercyanosis. On November 19th, Emma had her procedure which included a heart cath and pulmonary valvuloplasty at less than 2 months old. On December 27th, we had her post-procedure follow up with the Cardiologist. The Cardiologist was satisfied with the procedure results, and at this time another procedure would cause more harm than good to lessen the pressure difference of 20% even further. She is still having a small amount of pressure leakage from the valve, so we will have an additional ECHO in March to monitor her progress. From there, we will see if the ECHOs can be pushed out further to become routine. Emma will be a life long heart patient from her diagnosis requiring routine monitoring.
We have created a team for Emma with the American Heart Association under Poole Family. We will be raising donations for her team as a form of support to this cause in honor of Emma and those we know personally affected by a heart condition. This is our story, please consider joining our team as support. We welcome all to join and our family will walk as a representation of her support from all. If you would like to donate to her Team, please use the link below. We appreciate every form of support that our family has received during this process and we want to do our part in supporting a cause for those individuals/families that have been impacted by a heart condition.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today by joining our team or donating towards our goal. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
