Each year I participate in the AHA's Heart Mini. My list of reasons for doing so has grown over the years. :)
- In memory of my maternal grandmother, Betty Teegarden, who had a stroke in 1997 and went home to be with the Lord in 2001.
- To promote physical activity to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
- To be a good role model and example of physical fitness for my daughter and my son, so that they know that physical and nutritional health should always be at the forefront of our minds.
I think it's very important for everyone to take charge of their health and do what they can to live healthier lives. Walking 15-30 minutes a day, choosing healthier food options, drinking more water - making any sort of effort, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction.
I have learned so much in the last seven years about exercise and choosing the right foods. If you ever have any questions or need some motivation, I would be honored to help!
