I recently signed up to participate in the American Heart Association mini heart walk on March 12, 2017 and I am inviting you to join my team in the fight to make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
The American Heart mini walk is so much more than just another fundraising event. Two years ago, my family experienced firsthand a family member with heart issues. My dad, an avid runner, noticed abnormal difficulty when he ran. After several weeks he decided to see a cardiologist. It saved his life. According to the cardiologist, if he would have waited much longer and continued running, he would have had a massive heart attack. After surgery to correct his problem, he is back to running half marathons.
Chances are you also know someone who has been affected by heart disease or stroke. One in three Americans has some form of cardiovascular disease and stroke is the leading cause of disability in the United States. We can help change this by walking and raising funds for the American Heart Association. This mini walk is an opportunity to help change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by heart disease and stroke.
The power we have together far outweighs what one individual can do alone. We're not just walking, we're heart walking. Please consider joining my team - it would mean so much to me!
