My life took a sudden turn after being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy shortly before my 36th birthday. Intially, I believed the condition was under control. I was scheduled to have an ICD implanted. However, one day, I sensed something wasn't right and went to the emergency room at Cone Health. A few days after, I underwent emergency surgery to have the ICD implanted.
Now, I am committed to raising awareness about heart health, emphasizing the importance of exercise, anti-inflammatory diets, and the need to listen to your body.
I'm also organizing community events to help support other heart patients and share the message of knowing and trusting your body's signals.
