As an ICU nurse I walk every year because of the patients that we serve that suffer from heart disease and stroke.
However, this year, the walk is personal to me. Our beloved Grandma Rosie passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack this year. She was the matriarch of the family and always had a smile on her face. From the moment I met her when I started dating my husband, she made me feel like family. She was quick with a smile, loved the Wisconsin Badgers, and made the best potato soup.
She was taken from us so quickly that goodbyes weren't able to be said. I walk in remembrance of her.
