I have participated in the Heart Walk in previous years because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. When combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
The Heart Walk has even more personal meaning to me, as my teenage son was born with a congenital heart defect which will require him to have a valve replacement when he gets older. He has also undergone two cardiac ablations for ventricular arrhythmia so we understand how important cardiac care and research is. In addition, many of the patients I work with on a daily basis suffer from heart conditions/disease, so I walk for them as well.
