Results from the Moment You Give
I would love to see everyone for the Heart Walk, but I understand we are busy and live far apart, But for today, I encourage you to take a few minutes to donate to the American Heart Association.
Why?
I support this cause for a lot of reasons and would like to take a minute to share some of them with you.
The biggest reason is my family history and the genes that were passed down through generations, some good and some not so good, But with the dedication of the American Heart Association and scientists around the researching new techniques, medicines, and education they allowed me to have extra time with many I have lost.
The real opportunity for all of us is not just to raise money, but to raise awareness by being ambassadors as we move through life. Understanding the signs, symptoms, and differences between men and women is critical if we want to save lives.
But also remember this disease is a silent killer and takes the young and the old alike. I encourage you to talk to speak to your doctor and understand your basic numbers and know your risk.
Why do I care so much? This disease is the number one killer in my family. I am selfish, I want the best technology, cures, and medicines to be discovered. I have not had a heart attack, but I am a survivor of multiple mini-strokes. I am at high risk for heart disease with family history and I want the best chance of survival and a return to normal life if a stroke or heart attack strikes. I can only have this if we all support the effort of the American Heart Association.
This year I walk in memory of:
My spouse, Lee
My dad, Vic
My dad's dad, Victor
Lee's dad, Loys
Lifetime friend, Alfred
Lifetime friend, Barbara
Lifetime friends son, Joseph
A survivor, my brother, Parker
I am walking to:
Bring Awareness,
For those, we have lost,
For my family, Mom, Caitlyn, Sam, the Pups and Cat, and,
For me.
Remember to take the time to visit the doctor, it could save your life.
KNOW YOUR NUMBERS - KNOW YOUR RISK!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and supporting this event and the American Heart Association.
