In 2016, my mom, Kathy Mitchell, passed away in her sleep of CHF. We knew she had CHF but failed to see the signs that she was near the end of her life. I never thought I would be facing my own fight with CHF. I was diagnosed in early 2023. I spent much of the year in and out of the hospital for pneumonia, which complicated my CHF. On October 6, I had a Type II heart attack as a result of respiratory distress. After over a week in Baptist East I completed 36 sessions of Cardiac Rehab.
August 20,2020 my husband suffered a stroke. Thanks to God he is 97% or more recovered! He has very few deficits and only see most of them. He is my hero.We are proud to say we are back on our feet and getting better day by day. We are working out, kayaking and living a life we thought was over. We have a lot of life ahead of us. We have 4 wonderful children of which we want to be there for for many years to come. We have 3 grandchildren and 1 on the way to watch grow up and hopefully more to come.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you help me?
