I walk because I am thankful for the advances in medicine that were afforded through fundraisers such as this one. It has allowed me to enjoy being with my mother for the past 7 years. She has undergone a procedure called transaortic valve replacement. She is 93 years old now and enjoying her great-grandchildren. With your help, we can help others.
Update: Since this posting, my mother has recently fallen asleep in death. We are thankful for the time we spent with her due to the efforts of the American Heart Association fundraising. Join us in a special memorial walk this year!
