Growing up in Georgia, I had many formative experiences with my dad. His work ethic was unrelenting and his strength knew no bounds. Soon after I graduated high school he collapsed at his physically demanding job and it came as a surprise that he needed an emergency quadruple heart bypass and a valve replacement. My family was grateful for his recovery; he went on to live another decade until a heart attack in 2014. My dad will always be my hero. In honor of his indomitable will, I raise funds to support the American Heart Association. With every donation and mile walked, I hope that, together, we can support heart health for everyone.
