I'm a survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), an "electrical" problem of the heart, where the heart beats dangerously fast, and essentially quivers, instead of pumping blood. I woke up early in the morning of Sept 3, 2017 (during Labor Day holiday weekend), with a tremendous pain in my chest. While waiting for an ambulance, I passed out....but fortunately, the first responder and the EMT team came within minutes, and revived me using an automated CPR machine, oxygen tank and a defibrilator. After being shocked 6 times and about 20-25 min later, my heart started functioning again on its own. I'm told that less than 5% of people who have SCA survive. Yes, I'm a miracle!
The picture on this page shows the 2 officers who saved my life that fateful day. I was able to join them, to thank them in person, while they received an award on Feb 14, 2018. I owe my life to this crew, to the advancements in medical technology/equipment, research done around this condition, the doctors, and to God. I'm so thankful that I have a second chance at life.
