This year, I am walking for my daddy!
What some people know and many people didn't until recently is that my dad has been living his entire life with a heart condition - Marfan's. This almost led to disaster in the weeks leading up to my wedding last year, but doctors were able to get in front of it.
Less than one week before my wedding, my dad went under the knife for triple bypass surgery. He was not able to walk me down the aisle or even attend my wedding, but the doctors gave me a better gift - many more years with him.
