Monday at the end of the 2016 school year, I woke up with pain in my chest. Sunday night before I had done some push-ups, and thought the pain was from doing them. I ignored the pain and went about my day. At night I was having pain across my chest. Tuesday morning I came to work and had more pain. I had my blood pressure tested and I believe it was 145/90. I woke up Wednesday without any pain. I had doctor's appointment on that day, and told my doctor about what I was experiencing. He told me if it came back, to see him or go to the ER. Thursday morning, no pain so I went about my day. On Friday I woke up with intense pain. Still not thinking it was a heart attack, I tried to make it through the day. I had to leave on Saturday to fly to Colorado, so I tried to tough it out. But I realized a plane trip may make my pain even worse, so I went to the ER. That is when I heard I had a heart attack.
My cardiologist told me I had one artery 100% blocked and another 45% blocked. One stent was put in and told to watch my diet and to lose weight. It has now been three years past when I had my attack, and I am still doing fairly well. I haven't made a commitment to exercise that I need to, but overall I feel very good.
