I walk because research and heart disease are very close to my heart!
When I was 21 I had 3 strokes and a heart surgery to repair my miltral valve. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Fast forward to 2012 and I had my beautiful daughter Zoey. She was two months early and had to be put in NICU. She did a number on my body and I had to have emergency heart surgery at the age of 31 to repair my heart valve and reconstruct another part of my heart.
I am doing fine, I am 43 years old and have a wonderful life. I did recently develope AFIB and had to have a heart ablation in 2022. This is a life long struggle that I will endure because I am hear for a reason.
