I support the AHA and raise money and awareness about heart health in loving memory of my dad, Thomas C. Littleton and my mom, Margaret Littleton. My dad had his first heart attack in 1992. Over the next several years, he had two more heart attacks and also developed congestive heart failure. (Unfortunately, Heart Disease runs in my family.) The ground-breaking research of the American Heart Association and the miracle-working cardiologists at MUSC gave me over 20 years with my dad that I never expected I would have after his first heart attack. I am forever grateful for those years.
I'm participating in honor of my beautiful mom, Margaret Littleton, who passed away from Heart Disease. I can't believe she's gone. It makes me angry and sad that Heart Disease shortened the lives of both my parents.
I miss my mom and dad every day, and I want to honor their memories by helping a worthy cause and supporting the American Heart Association.
