For the past 14 years I have served as a Heart Walk team captain because I believe strongly in an increase in awareness of the fastest-growing disease in the United States. With the cooperation of various entities, more education on preventive measures, and persistent determination, I believe more lives can be changed and I lead my team believing in these actions. I walk in honor of my grandfathers, O.B. Smith and Edgar Teasley, Larisa Slaughter and my Uncle Keith Hopson. I will make sure that your heartbeat continues to live through myself and the family.
