The last time we did this walk in 2019, my mom, who we walk for, started out as happy as could be. She had her team behind her and it was a great day. Not soon after the walk started, she tripped over something on the street and fell. She knocked out her teeth, busted her knee, and her wrist. This woman was determined. She finished the race.
So now, 2025, I am building a team to walk in honor of her, again. I know she cant walk it but she can be on the sidelines cheering on her team. She has been through so much since then but her resilience is what keeps her and us all going.
I strive to be half the soldier she is.
