On October 30, 2023 I received a call from my mom while I was at work to tell me that my aunt was unresponsive and EMS is working on her. I quickly left work to be by her side. I then realized that my aunt had her first heart attack at home as her special needs adult son witnessed. He did not know what to do so he called a family member before calling 911. He was then instructed to hang up and call 911 and they had him lay her on the floor. He did not know CPR. EMS worked on my aunt for an hour total. I lost my aunt that day. Her first heart attack was her last one. If my cousin only knew what steps to take. I want others to know what to do in these types of situations and want to be sure that they can get the training they need even if they can't afford it.
