UNCW will once again participate in the Cape Fear Heart Walk on Saturday, October 18, 2025, a community tradition hosted by the American Heart Association to raise awareness for heart health.
This year, CHHS is leading Team UNCW, and we?re inviting faculty and staff from across campus to join us in showing how UNCW leads with collaboration, care, and community spirit.
This event is an opportunity to:
- Represent UNCW?s shared commitment to health, wellness, and equity.
- Connect across colleges and disciplines in support of a common cause.
- Engage with community partners while highlighting UNCW?s impact beyond campus.
It's more than just a walk, it?s a chance for us to stand together as a university, raise awareness about cardiovascular health, and show our collective commitment to improving the well-being of our community. The Heart Walk brings together students, faculty, staff, and community partners to celebrate heart health, encourage prevention, and honor those impacted by heart disease.
With your help, we?re aiming to make this our biggest year yet.
No fundraising is required to participate (though every contribution helps!), and your presence alone helps raise awareness and show support for a healthier, heart-strong community. Walking is a chance to connect with classmates, colleagues, and neighbors, all while championing a life-saving cause.
The Heart Walk is fun, high-energy, and a great way to get moving with friends and family. You might even spot our famous heart costume on campus!
So, whether you're walking for a loved one, supporting heart health research, or simply looking for a feel-good way to spend a Saturday morning, we?d love to have you with us.
Don?t skip a beat, sign up today and join Team UNCW!
