This year, my family is walking in the AHA Heart Walk with a very personal reason close to our hearts, literally. Both my oldest kiddo and I were born with congenital heart defects. Mine has been manageable, but Andrew needed open heart surgery at just five days old. Watching your baby go through something like that changes you forever.
We?re both here today thanks to incredible medical care and the kind of research the American Heart Association helps fund. So I walk to celebrate that journey, to support other families facing similar challenges, and to raise money for the science that saves lives.
