"What's your why" is utilized by the American Heart Association as a slogan for the community Heart Walks that raise awareness and funds for heart health.
In our family, our WHY is simple....
Cardiovascular disease has effected not only my grandfather, but also my father and father-in-law. Between the three of them, there have been multiple open heart surgeries and countless stents. We are grateful for the time our daughters have with their Papa (my Dad) and Pop (my father-in-law) as a result of modern medicine and the advancements in cardiovascular treatment.
We walk for the men in our lives and the memories we get to create with them.
The Alachua County Heart Walk is the morning of Saturday, September 24 at Santa Fe College - if you're interested in walking with our family we would love to have you join us (text me for more info), or feel free to donate to the cause.
